The CRC Robotics Competition kiosk is a dynamic booth designed to showcase the team’s theme, ingenuity, and creativity. In our kiosk, the “Hell’s Kitchen” theme is vividly presented. With pots and pans and fire and ice on either side, our booth is easily distinguishable from others.

We have spent lots of time brainstorming, painting, and collection various items needed to make our kiosk fun and dynamic for both the judges and the audience. We did lots of woodwork and our team has put in an excellent effort into the very last details to make sure everyone can have a seamless experience.

All of our furniture are second hand or donated, including the fridge, oven, stove, sink, and more. The mentors had everybody inspect the streets, Facebook marketplace, and their own cabinets, for anything kitchen-related. Although I found many abandoned toilets, apparently they don’t belong in kitchens or something. All the pots and pans (and kettles) hanging above are from people’s houses, and they make for a great Rapunzel scene in the workshop.

In the middle we have a fancy island kitchen counter, constructed from two Huskys (no, not the dog. A trolley with a million little drawers for repairs during the competition) and a table-bot. If you remember a few years ago, we had a chairbot that you could sit on and it would be remote-controlled — and may or may not have been a safety hazard. Don’t worry, the table-bot is perfectly safe, unless you’re the kind of person that likes to sit on tables (aren’t we all?).
